The Not-for-Profit Sector

A strong, vibrant and innovative not-for-profit sector is essential to achieving a productive and inclusive Australia.

The not-for-profit sector plays a central role in enriching communities through its charitable, social, cultural, educational and environmental contribution and in providing support to the most vulnerable in our community.

The Office for the Not-for-Profit Sector was established in October 2010 to drive and coordinate the not-for-profit sector policy reform agenda and the National Compact: working together.
